You do not need business class or airline status to use a lounge at Dubai International (DXB). Pay-per-use lounges such as Marhaba and Plaza Premium sell time-based day passes to any traveller — pre-booked online or, where space allows, as a walk-in. At DXB these passes are usually priced by the length of stay (for example 2, 4, 6 or 8 hours) rather than a single flat rate.
Why an independent view matters
Most lounge "guides" online earn a commission on every booking, which shapes what they recommend. We take nothing. The honest summary: a paid lounge at DXB buys you a quieter seat, food and drinks, and Wi-Fi — it does not fast-track immigration or security. Given Dubai's very long transit times for many passengers, a few hours' comfort can be worth it; for a tight connection it rarely is.
Pay-to-enter lounges at DXB
Independent (non-airline) lounges that sell day passes at Dubai International include Marhaba (Terminals 1 and 3) and Plaza Premium, alongside other pay-per-use options. Locations and opening hours vary by terminal and concourse, so check what operates in your terminal on the day. Marhaba lounges are described as open 24 hours and welcome all passengers regardless of airline or cabin class.
| Lounge / pass type | Access | Indicative price (AED)* |

| Plaza Premium — time-based pass | Pre-book or walk in | Reported around AED 200 (4h) / AED 299 (8h) |

*Prices are indicative, change frequently and could not all be confirmed against the operator's live page at the time of review — treat them as unconfirmed and verify on the operator's own site before you book. Rough conversions: AED 195 is about US$53 / €49, and AED 750 about US$204 / €188 (indicative rates, June 2026).
How paid access usually works
- Pre-book a time slot online for a guaranteed space, or walk up and pay at the door if there is room.
- Passes are priced by length of stay at DXB rather than a single flat fee.
- Lounges are airside, so clear passport control and security first, and leave time to reach your gate.
Best for whom
- Long layovers (3 hours or more): common at DXB as a major hub; a quiet seat, power and refreshments can earn their keep.
- Overnight or red-eye connections: somewhere comfortable to wait; some Marhaba locations offer showers (extra fee) and Terminal 1 has sleeping rooms.
- Short connections (under 90 minutes): usually not worth it — you may barely sit down.
- Budget travellers: DXB has plenty of cafes and restaurants airside; the same spend can buy a good meal instead.
Because lounge prices and access rules change often, confirm directly with the operator and check what is open in your terminal on the day.
